Dosage of Augmentan 875/125 mg film-coated tablets
Always take your medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Please check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and children weighing 40 kg or more
The usual dose is 1 tablet twice a day.
Higher dose – 1 tablet 3 times a day.
Children weighing less than 40 kg
Children aged 6 years and younger are preferably treated with other dosage forms.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice when giving this medicine to children weighing less than 40 kg. The tablets are not suitable for children weighing less than 25 kg.
Patients with kidney or liver problems
If you have kidney problems, your dose may need to be changed. Your doctor may choose a different strength or medication.
If you have liver problems, you may need more frequent blood tests to monitor how your liver is working.
Do not take the drug for more than 2 weeks. See your doctor again if you still don’t feel better.
If you take more than you should
If you take too much medicine, you may experience stomach problems (feeling unwell, nausea or diarrhea) or cramps. Contact your doctor as soon as possible. Take the medicine box or bottle with you and show it to your doctor.
If you forget to take a dose
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. Then you should not take the next dose too soon, but should wait about 4 hours before taking the next dose.
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.
If you stop taking it
Continue taking the medicine until the end of treatment, even if you already feel better. You need all the prescribed doses to fight the infection. If some bacteria survive, they can cause the infection to recur.
