Promethazine-neuraxpharm® 100 mg
Promethazine-neuraxpharm is a drug for the treatment of anxiety and agitation in mental illness.
Compound:
The active ingredient is promethazine hydrochloride.
1 film-coated tablet contains promethazine hydrochloride 100 mg.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, highly dispersed silicon dioxide, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate (Ph. Eur.), corn starch, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type A) (Eur. Ph.), talc, hypromellose, macrogol 6000, titanium. dioxide (E171).
Application:
Always take this medication exactly as your doctor has told you. If you are unsure, consult your doctor or pharmacist. The dosage, dosage form and duration of use depend on the type and severity of your disease and your personal response. The principle is to keep the dose as low as possible and the duration of treatment as short as possible.
Elderly or frail patients.
Elderly or debilitated patients, as well as patients with organic changes in the brain, weak blood circulation and breathing, as well as impaired liver or kidney function, usually receive half the indicated dose.

The use of Promethazine-Neuraxpharm should be limited to single doses or several days. For treatment in a lower dose range, dosage forms with lower active ingredient content are also available. At the beginning of treatment, adults usually take 1/4 of Promethazine-Neuraxpharm 100 mg film-coated tablet (equivalent to 25 mg promethazine hydrochloride) at night.
If the desired effect cannot be achieved at this dosage, the physician may increase the dose to 1/2 Promethazine-Neuraxpharma film-coated tablet 100 mg in the evening (equivalent to 50 mg promethazine hydrochloride/day) or to a maximum of 2 times 1/2 Promethazine-Neuraxpharm 100 mg film-coated tablets per day (equivalent to 100 mg promethazine hydrochloride per day), the daily dose should be divided into several separate doses. Higher doses are needed only in rare cases and are usually prescribed in a hospital.
In cases of severe anxiety and agitation, the dose can be briefly increased to 3-4 times 1/2 Promethazine-Neuraxpharma film-coated tablet 100 mg per day (equivalent to a dose of up to 200 mg of promethazine hydrochloride per day).
