Indications
- acute pain;
- prevention or reduction of postoperative pain;
- reducing the need for opioid analgesics.
The medicine cannot be used:
- if you are allergic to parecoxib or any other ingredient of this medicine
- if you have ever had a serious allergic reaction (especially a serious skin reaction) to a medicine
- if you have ever had an allergic reaction (hypersensitivity reaction) to medications called «sulfonamides» (some antibacterial agents used to treat infections)
- if you currently have a stomach or intestinal ulcer or bleeding in the gastrointestinal area
- if you have ever had an allergic reaction (hypersensitivity reaction) to acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (such as ibuprofen) or to COX-2 inhibitors, such as wheezing (bronchospasm), severe nasal congestion, itchy rash, redness or swelling of the face, lips or tongue, other allergic reactions or nasal polyps.
- if you are in the last trimester of pregnancy
- if you are breastfeeding
- if you suffer from severe liver disease
- if you suffer from chronic inflammatory bowel disease (ulcerative colitis or Crohn’s disease).
- if you have heart failure
- if you are being prepared for heart surgery or surgery on the arteries (including coronary arteries)
- if you have a proven history of heart disease and/or a disease that impairs blood flow to the brain (for example, if you have had or have had a heart attack, stroke, mini-stroke [transient ischemic attack], or a blocked blood vessel to undergo heart surgery or brain block)
- if you have or have had problems with blood circulation (peripheral artery disease).
